The Ion Selective Electrode (ISE) flow cell is designed to accommodate various ion selective combination electrodes. One example is the sympHony™ Fluoride Ion Selective Combination Electrode produced by VWR. More generally, the standard ISE flow cell will accommodate any combination electrode with a 1/2 inch diameter. Other sizes are available (e.g., 12 mm), upon request.
Simply plug your electrodes into the flow cell ports, set up an electrical gradient and then take absorbance measurements as normal

The small internal volume of this flow cell ( 200 microlitres), allows ISE electrodes to be coupled with both flow injection and sequential injection analyzers.
ISE based assays include ammonia, fluoride, chloride, bromide, nitrate, calcium and potassium.
ISE flow cells are now used for performing quality control on 3M filters.
