Products:

FIAlab-2600 - The FIAlab-2600 offers the same dual channel FIA capabilities as two connected FIAlab-2500s except it's built into a single enclosure with a dual sample loop injection valve and a six channel peristaltic pump.  The advantages include cost savings, bench space, speed (sample has less distance to travel to fill both sample loops), and simplicity.

Extended Light Path Flow Cell for SIA-Lab-On-Valve® System

The existing 1 to 10 mm light path of the flow cell integrated into microSI-LOV module can be extended up to 10 cm by means of a kit that uses a unique light focusing conduit, the length of which can be selected by the user. The light conduit containing the  monitored solution is made of standard PEEK tubing mounted axially in a straight line between the ends of two optical fibers. In contrast to liquid core optical guides that use specialized tubing with inner lining, that may be affected by adsorbing species, the light conduit made of straight PEEK tubing is inert, inexpensive and can be replaced by the user.  All wetted surfaces are either quartz, PEEK or Ultem. While originally designed for high sensitive UV-VIS spectrophotometry, the ELP flow cell is suitable for chemiluminiscence as well as for fluorescence measurements with axial illumination.  The ELP flow cell is fully compatible with Ocean Optics Spectrophotometer and LED, tungsten or  Deuterium light sources.

The benefit of ELP flow cell, besides increased sensitivity due to longer light path, is that by accommodating larger sample volumes in undiluted form, it allows longer sections of a dispersed sample zone to be monitored in a stopped flow mode.

The SMA-USP Flowcell - The new SMA Ultra-Short Path Flowcell allows absorbance measurements through an optical path length of only ~100 microns to ~400 microns (please specify).  Other path lengths are available upon request.

The SMA-USP flowcell is ideal for measuring the UV/VIS (220 to 1000 nm) absorbance of very optically dense fluids.  Eliminates or minimizes the need for pre-dilutions during online monitoring.   Wetting surfaces are Fused Silica and Teflon.   Custom materials and designs are available.   Connects to fiber optics with SMA terminations.

The FIAlab-4000 Sequential Injection system, built into a NEMA 4X waterproof/chemical resistant enclosure with an embedded computer and touch screen monitor, is ideally suited for online applications.  The electrical and software interfaces can be built to customer specifications, including; out of tolerance alarms, real-time dosing capabilities, and over the internet monitoring.

LED based lamps are available between 247 nm and 945 nm.  Multiple LEDs can be combined to achieve a multifunctional broad based light source.  Typical combinations include:

LED270/W - 270 nm LED with white LED - for Affinity Chromatography assays

LED370/W - 340 nm LED with white LED – for OPA based Amino Acid assays

LED945/880/W -
945 nm, 880 nm, and white LED  – for Environmental/Agricultural assays such as nitrate, ammonia, and phosphate

LEDs are often superior to other light sources for their relative low cost, long life, and stable output.  They are ideal for online applications.

The SIChrom™ liquid chromatography system is the first commercial LC instrument based on the concept of sequential injection and programmable flow.  Although HPLC is a workhorse in many laboratories, systems typically consist of large bench-top devices, with  high power consumption requirements, and lengthy auxiliary operations prior to and after each separation run.  By integrating several evolving technologies, the SIChrom system has been designed to allow HPLC analyses at accelerated rates and conducted at much lower pressures (<900 PSI).  This at a lower instrument cost and size, and without  sacrificing performance.

Rapid Phosphate Assays

With the new Rapid Queuing Valve (RQV) option, the FIAlab-2500 can now measure Phosphate and Ammonia at around nine seconds per sample.  This compares to 30-60 seconds per sample for other commercially available FIA systems. Some limitations do apply, for instance the RQV is not compatible with the SCSP-2500 autodilutor option.  Please inquire for additional information to see if the Rapid Queuing Valve will work with your specific application(s).

SCSP-2500 Auto Dilutor

No need to prepare multiple standards, let the SCSP-2500 dilutor create the standards automatically.  The SCSP-2500 aspirates standards and samples from autosampler, dilutes them to the desired level, and delivers the resulting diluted sample  through the FIAlab-2500 manifold.   Accurate dilutions down to twenty fold.   Easily create calibration curves from a single standard, or dilute samples to concentration levels within the dynamic range of the detector.

SIA-Lab-On-Valve made from polyetherimide (Ultem) for improved chemical resistance.   Here is a partial list of common chemicals compatible with polyetherimide:

Acetic Acid, Acetone Alconox Acetone, Alconox , Carbon Tetrachloride, Cellosolve, Chromic Acid, Citric Acid, Clorox, Cyclohexane, Cyclohexylamine, Ethanol, Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Ether, Formic Acid, Gasoline, Hexane, Hydrochloric Acid, Isopropanol,  Kerosene, Lestoll 1, Methanol, Methylethyl Ketone (MEK), Naphtha, Nitric Acid, Phenol, Phosphoric Acid, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Skydrol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sulfuric Acid, Tetrachloroethylene, Tin Chloride, Toulene, Trichloroethane (1,1,2-), Triethylphosphate, Xylene, Zinc Chloride.

FIAlab-2700 - The FIAlab-2700 is the first (and only) commercially available FIA system which offers a four channel syringe pump for aspirating/dispensing carrier, sample, and reagents.   The unit also includes a high precision four channel peristaltic pump, making the FIAlab-2700 perhaps the most flexible FIA system on the market.   This is system ideal for the research laboratory exploring new FIA approaches.

Automated Hydride Generation for Atomic Spectroscopies. Gas expansion separator augmented with a syringe pump is compatible with Flow Injection or Sequential Injection based hydride generation.

Reaction mixture comprising assayed sample and sodium borohydride is segmented by air. The mixture enters the separator, where air removes generated hydride and carries it into a flowcell for cold vapor monitoring or into AA or ICP instrument. Gas expansion separator is controlled by FIAlab software and is compatible either with FIAlab 2500 ( for continuous flow operation) or with the MicroSIA for programmable flow operation (to minimize reagent consumption).

High throughput microAFFINITY CHROMATOGRAPHY in “lab-on-valve” (TM) system.  Production of Monoclonal Antibodies and quality control of IgG’s is carried out in real time on Protein A, or Protein G Sepharose 6B  microcolumn, shown here adjacent to a fiber optic flowcell integrated within “lab-on-valve” module.   Separation and assay is completed within 120 seconds, with detection limit of 6ng mouse IgG, monitored at 280nm.
