Complete Flow and Sequential Injection Systems

FIAlab offers instrumentation from the simplest, manually operated unit designed for cost effective assays and training, to fully computerized systems for biomolecule based assays. Automation of a wide variety of reagent based bio- and chemical assays, minimizing of reagent, sample consumption and waste generation plus automated data processing are the salient features of FIAlab instruments. Versatility, reliability, user-friendly software, and choice of high quality components makes FIAlab systems ideal for the laboratory, research and industrial use.

Industrial Process Analyzer

Flow Injection Analysis has been a workhorse for serial sample processing, its advantages being transparency of operation, high sample throughput and recognition of its reliability within the community of routine laboratories.  FIAlab offers the following two FIA systems.

FIAlab-2500 - The FIAlab-2500 system brings you a complete automated flow injection analysis solution, including FIAlab for Windows control software, UV/VIS (or VIS/NIR) spectrometer, detector, flow cell, light source, fiber optics, tubing and connectors. The low cost of the FIAlab-2500 makes this system ideal for academic teaching and research laboratories. The robust design and adaptability make this system the best choice for commercial laboratories performing routine analyses. This system is ideal for Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonium, Phosphate, Chloride, Iron, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), and many other common colorimetric assays.

FIAlab-2600 - The FIAlab-2600 offers the same dual channel FIA capabilities as two connected FIAlab-2500s except it's built into a single enclosure with a dual sample loop injection valve and a six channel peristaltic pump.  The advantages include cost savings, bench space, speed (sample has less distance to travel to fill both sample loops), and simplicity.

FIAlab-2700 - The FIAlab-2700 is the first (and only) commercially available FIA system which offers a four channel syringe pump for aspirating/dispensing carrier, sample, and reagents.   The unit also includes a high precision four channel peristaltic pump, making the FIAlab-2700 perhaps the most flexible FIA system on the market.   This is system ideal for the research laboratory exploring new FIA approaches.

Sequential Injection Analysis is the recommended approach for online and remote site monitoring, where robustness and low reagent consumption is critical.  Sequential Injection is also ideal for biomolecule assays such as Enzymatic Assays, Bioligand Interaction Assays and Chromatography of Biomolecules.  FIAlab offers the following two SIA systems.

FIAlab’s MicroSIA system is around one half the size of the FIAlab-3000 system, making it the smallest complete Sequential Injection Analysis system available. Measuring only 5 inches wide, 6 inches high, 6 inches deep, and weighing only 8 pounds, this highly portable unit is ideal for the laboratory where bench space is at a premium.  This system is perfect for multiple simultaneous assays - up to four MicroSIA units can be interconnected, all sharing a single autosampler and computer.  This is the recommended system for most online applications.

FIAlab-3200 - The FIAlab-3200 Dual Syringe Sequential Injection Analysis system is designed for research and development projects, and is also ideal for many online applications. The use of the independently controllable dual syringe pumps allow for the formation of varying types of concentration gradients, useful for such applications as Ion Exchange Chromatography.

FIAlab-3500 - The FIAlab-3500 is a versatile instrument that can perform both SIA and FIA, with a six or eight port selector valve, a microsyringe piston pump and a 4 channel peristaltic pump. This system is ideal for the researcher examining both FIA and SIA (and even hybrid applications involving combination FIA/SIA format).

Accelerated Liquid Chromatography is a new approach to HPLC which uses flow programming and sol gel monoliths for accelerated and flexible separation assays.

The SIChrom™ liquid chromatography system is the first commercial LC instrument based on the concept of sequential injection and programmable flow.  Although HPLC is a workhorse in many laboratories, systems typically consist of large bench-top devices, with  high power consumption requirements, and lengthy auxiliary operations prior to and after each separation run.  By integrating several evolving technologies, the SIChrom system has been designed to allow HPLC analyses at accelerated rates and conducted at much lower pressures (<600 PSI).  This at a lower instrument cost and size, and without  sacrificing performance.

Note, the SIChrom system is also ideal for more traditional Sequential Injection Analysis applications, especially where higher pressure is required.

Industrial Processor Analyzer  for quaility control of at-line/online industrial and remote processes.

The FIAlab-4000 Sequential Injection Analysis system is built into a NEMA 4X enclosure with an embedded computer and touch screen monitor.    This system is ideal for industrial and remote site applications such as sample tank quality control.  The electrical and software interface can be built to customer specifications, including out of tolerance alarms, real-time dosing capabilities, and over the internet monitoring.

Example applications include: monitoring/dosing industrial dye tanks for single and multicolor components, sources for chloride, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, ammonia, zinc, and iron.    Optional detector systems are available for colorimetric, fluorometric, conductivity, and ISE based assays.
