 UV/VIS/NIR
Light Sources for Absorbance and Fluorescence Based
Assays
|
 LED
based lamps are available between 247 nm and
945 nm. Multiple LEDs can be combined to achieve a
multifunctional broad based light source.
LEDs
are often superior to other light sources for their relatively low cost,
long life, and very stable output. They are ideal for online
applications.
Up to three LEDs can be combined and individually adjusted for
brightness. To connect the LED(s) to a flowcell use a single fiber optic
cable (P600-20) per LED, or bifurcated cable (P600-20-BIF) for two
simultaneous LEDs, or trifurcated cable (P600-20-TRI) for three
simultaneous LEDs. Common configurations are listed below. Custom
configurations are also available, please inquire.

Direct Connect LEDs

Fiber
Optic Cables
|
FIAlab offers a number of fiber optic cables for
use with the above flowcells, light sources and detection systems. All
of our fiber optic cables are UV/VIS compatible and solarization
resistant.
 The
photo shows a fiber terminated with an SMA connector (top) and a steel
sheath connector (bottom). SMA connectors are utilized for
connections to spectrometers, any of the above listed light sources, as
well as the SMA-Z style flowcells. The steel terminated
connector is used for interfacing to the FIA-Z flowcell.
The P600-20, P600-20-BIF, and P600-20-TRI optical fibers use SMA
connectors on all ends. The FIA-P600 optical fiber uses an SMA
connector on one end and PEEK sheathed connector on the other end.
