The fiber optic FIAlab-Z Cell for absorbance measurements is designed to
work with two special FIA-P200-UV or FIA-P400-UV optical fibers
with stainless steel terminations. The flow cell has an adjustable
path length (0 - 10 mm), and is available in PEEK, high grade stainless
steel or Plexiglas.
The
FIAlab-Z Cell is designed to accommodate common optical measurements in the
UV to near IR. It's design minimizes bubble entrapment, which can be
problematic in flow injection and sequential injection measurements.
The flowcell can be used for measuring absorbance from 170-2000
nm, however wavelengths shorter than 260 nm require
solarization resistant fiber optic cables (please inquire for additional
information).
Each
cell order includes Upchurch fittings and tubing.
FIAlab-Z
Cell is now offered in transparent polyetherimide (Ultem) for improved
chemical resistance. Here is a partial list of common chemicals compatible
with polyetherimide:
Acetic Acid, Acetone Alconox Acetone, Alconox , Carbon Tetrachloride,
Cellosolve, Chromic Acid, Citric Acid, Clorox, Cyclohexane, Cyclohexylamine,
Ethanol, Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Ether, Formic Acid, Gasoline, Hexane,
Hydrochloric Acid, Isopropanol, Kerosene, Lestoll 1, Methanol, Methylethyl
Ketone (MEK), Naphtha, Nitric Acid, Phenol, Phosphoric Acid, Potassium
Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Skydrol, Sodium Hydroxide,
Sulfuric Acid, Tetrachloroethylene, Tin Chloride, Toulene, Trichloroethane
(1,1,2-), Triethylphosphate, Xylene, Zinc Chloride.
