FIAlab-3200 - Sequential Injection System for Exploratory Research in Analytical Microfluidics

The FIAlab-3200 Dual Syringe Sequential Injection Analysis system is designed for research and development projects, and many online applications. The utilization of independently controllable dual syringe pumps allow for formations of varying profiles of programmable concentration gradients, useful for many applications in the biomolecular research. Other advantages of the secondary pump include:

providing a wide range of flow rates. By using both a small syringe and a larger syringe, one can increase the system's flowrate dynamic range by orders of magnitude.

the dual syringe combination is ideal for auto diluting high concentration samples prior to analyses.

the system can be run with seamless uninterrupted flow, while one syringe is refilling the other is emptying.

the second syringe pump can be utilized to washout the manifold between each sample assay, vastly increasing the system's throughput speed.

The FIAlab-3200 is a highly versatile system for research and exploration of methods that benefit from PROGRAMMABLE flow.  An example application is Sequential Injection Ion Exchange Chromatography.   This method is based on ion exchange separation of biomolecules from their interaction with charged sites fixed on stationary phase, and their modification due to pH and salt content of the mobile phase. Their resolution is based on the gradual change of composition of the mobile phase that forms an elution gradient, comprising a variable pH or salt content.

The Lab-On-Valve manifold is usually recommended with the FIAlab-3200 system, especially where application requirements include small volumes and low maintenance.  Please visit our information page "SI Compatible Techniques", for method descriptions ideally suited for the FIAlab-3200/LOV system.

For limited sample and/or reagent volume applications consider the MicroSip miniature autosampler.
