Software

FIAlab for Windows®, developed by Garth Klein and perfected by him, will serve for many years. To guarantee software longevity even further into the future, we will within the next year introduce our new software, FIAflow. It retains the functionalities and appearance of FIAlab for Windows, but is built on a more modern platform. FIAflow will be available to present users as an upgrade.

FIAlab for Windows 5.0 software is specifically designed to control the FIAlab instruments. Many years were spent writing and testing this software, which now meets the stringent requirements of flow and sequential injection analysis. The software is easy to learn, and is versatile enough for use in fields outside standard FIA and SIA applications in laboratory or process environments. Its core functions are designed to communicate with a wide range of peripheral devices and instruments.

The outstanding feature of FIAlab for Windows is its user friendly script based programming language. This language consists of a simple BASIC like command structure, with all the available commands presented in a floating list box. The user simply points and clicks the desired command, automatically adding  the command to the procedure. The user can either write their own FIA script, from scratch,  select a prewritten script from the list of templates, or download a script from the online library, to use directly or to modify as needed.

Key features of FIAlab for Windows:

Automatic calibration curve generation, automatic dilution of standards, quality control samples, periodic calibration curve regeneration.  Automatic compensation for response drift (e.g. caused by degradation of a Cadmium column over the course of a Nitrate run).
Peak characterization functions such as peak height, and area under curve, slope.
Powerful data plotting includes merging and superposition of response curves generated at different experimental runs, ready for evaluation. Real response curves can be directly transferred to  other programs such as Power Point
Automated report generation and automated emailing capabilities
Reports can be automatically exported to MS Excel
Handles up to four FIAlab systems simultaneously, creating up to four independent calibration curves for multi-channel assays.
